    Position Summary

    The Network Administrator’s role is to ensure the stable operation of the in-house data network. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network infrastructure hardware, software, and communication links. The person will also analyze and resolve networking-related end user hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required.

    The Network Administrator needs to be proficient in the most critical Network Administration tasks such as network monitoring, network hardware/software maintenance, outage/issue responsiveness and other network administrative tasks. The Network Administrator will work in conjunction with other Infrastructure Team members as needed to ensure tasks in these Network Administration areas are completed in a timely and effective manner. This role is for a night shift from 4PM to 1AM (EST) from Thursday to Monday. Bilingual (Spanish/English) written and spoken fluency is required.

    Responsibilities

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Strategy & Planning

    • Perform network design and capacity planning.
    • Implement policies and procedures for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery.
    • Maintain and monitor service level agreements with end users.

    Acquisition & Deployment

    • Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
    • Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
    • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network and voice procurement and development efforts.

    Operational Management

    • Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs and firewalls.
    • Respond to network outages and emergencies to keep business uptime within established SLAs.
    • Proactive monitoring of business-critical systems.
    • Response to outages and other operational issues in a timely and structured matter.
    • Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
    • Administer all equipment, hardware and software upgrades.
    • Maintenance of network and data-circuits (WAN) inventory and technical specifications information.
    • Perform network security audits.
    • Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Education

    Formal Education & Certification

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field.
    • CCNP in Routing and Switching is required with minimum two years of experience after certification.
    • CCNA/CCNP in Security or Collaboration a plus.

    Knowledge & Experience

    • Working technical knowledge of network infrastructure devices: routers, switches, and firewalls.
    • Working technical knowledge of EIGRP and BGP is required.
    • Working technical knowledge of QOS with direct relation to DSCP/COS values.
    • Working technical knowledge of current network/routing protocols, and standards.
    • Check Point firewall knowledge a plus.
    • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
    • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

    Personal Attributes

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Spanish knowledge a plus but not required.
    • Proactive and dynamic, with demonstrated initiative to lead projects with little direction.

    • Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.

    Working Conditions

    • General office working conditions.
    • On-call availability as needed by the business to respond to network outages.
    • Sitting for extended periods of time.
    • Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings.
